
The Manolo Santana Story
From the streets of Madrid to four Grand Slams and the ATP Hall of Fame
Manolo Santana (1938–2021) was a pioneer of Spanish tennis. Born in Madrid, he picked up his first racquet as a ball boy and went on to become the first Spaniard to win a major: Roland Garros 1961.
Over the next decade he added Roland Garros 1964, the US Open 1965 and his beloved Wimbledon 1966 — becoming World No. 1 and the face of an entire generation. In 1996 he founded this club to share his love of tennis with kids, adults and visitors from all over the world.
